Why It Matters Who Administers Your Botox

Botox® was first approved by the FDA in 2002 to “temporarily make moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines look better in adults.” In the almost 20 years since the introduction of Botox, many aestheticians have perfected the art of administering it because make no mistake, Botox is far more than a couple of injections.

Here at Boost Your Beauty MediSpa, we consider beauty a fine art, and no two canvases are alike. Each of our clients in the Merrick and Huntington, New York, areas receives one-on-one care as our highly trained Physician’s Assistant, Mena, creates custom-designed treatment plans that bring out everyone’s natural beauty. While Botox is a simple, and effective, antiaging tool, it takes a skilled hand to get the best out of the procedure.

Here’s a look at why who administers your Botox matters.

The early days of Botox

When Botox first burst onto the scene some 17 years ago, people flocked to see how this miracle antiaging tool could erase wrinkles and fine lines around their brows, eyes, and foreheads. This enthusiasm led to faces that were, quite literally, frozen in time as Botox was administered with a bit too much abandon and without fully understanding how it worked.

We’re not criticizing the early adopters who were bold enough to be among the first to receive, and administer, this cosmetic injectable. Their trial and error have allowed us to refine and perfect the art of administering this botulinum toxin to greater effect.

Still No. 1

There’s a reason why Botox and similar products were the No. 1 nonsurgical cosmetic procedure in 2017, with more than 1.5 million treatments — it remains one of the easiest and most effective ways to turn back the clock on your face. Botox works extremely well in reducing the lines that grow increasingly etched into your skin by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that are responsible for their formation.

But this prescription injectable can be overused, or used improperly, leading to eyebrows being frozen in place, drooping eyelids, or other facial changes, even today.

Here at our medispa, Mena, our Physician Assistant is trained in the use of Botox, and hse has the expertise and experience necessary to give you a more youthful appearance, while still allowing you freedom of expression.

The face of Botox

Through our own experiences and research, we’ve perfected a program that uses Botox to bring out the best in your face, not simply stop it from contracting or moving. This more subtle approach allows you to tackle the age-revealing wrinkles, without making it obvious that you’ve “had work done.”

Through our strategic placement of Botox, along with a new understanding of how we can add dermal fillers for even better results, we give our clients fantastic options for turning back the clock. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach to administering Botox, we take the time to study your face, your expressions, and come up with a plan that will enhance, not override your natural beauty.
